Digital Archiving

Imagine being able to access any of your family's most important documents - photos, videos, insurance records, birth certificates, etc - with a few clicks or keystrokes? Converting your family's memories into a digital archive is an easy way to ensure that your memories are not only accessible, but safe from harm for generations to come.

Your family records are subject to multiple forms of damage - photos can be easily ruined by water or exposure to sunlight and air. Videos of birthday parties, graduations and family reunions can be destroyed in seconds by excess heat or water. Important paperwork like insurance information, employment history and medical records can be destroyed instantly by fire, flood or other natural disaster.

Ovenlight's comprehensive digital archiving services can convert more than old family photos (slides, 35mm film, digital film, polaroids, etc) and videos (super 8, VHS, etc). We provide archival services for all your family's documents to create a continuous and full collection of your most important memories. We'll work with you to create an easily searchable, infinitely customizable record of documents, family photos, keepsakes, video and more. Contact us today and learn more about how easy it is to preserve and protect your family information with Ovenlight's digital archiving service.

Family Archiving Service

Scanning photos and pictures is a time consuming task. It's totally worth it though. When you digitize family photos, you are choosing to preserve family memories from loss including fire, water, theft, loss, and the simple faxt is. Photos are decaying organic matter. The older the photo the more important the need for scanning.

Scanning is more than a photocopy. By that i mean, you don't just drop the picture on the scanner that came with your PC (2 years ago) and hit scan.

I like to think that you only have to do this once. You are going to create a Digital Master. Scan, Restore, Perfect and Save as the Orgiginal. From there you can distribute copies that are small enough to email while retaining an original that can be printed at 8x10.

Digital Master Files are high density, color corrected, blemmish free images. They contain all of the metadata (who what where, when) and take up at least 30MB (Megabytes) of disc space.

I'm no math Magician but lets say you have 5 photo albums with 150 photos in each album...At 30MB an image you would need 36 Gigabytes of Disc space for these images.

Note that opening and manipulating a 30 Megabyte file efficiently requires signigicant computing power.

Loose Photographs

Looking through photos can bring back great memories - whether they're of big events like birthday parties, graduations, or family trips or simple accounts of bathtime or a picnic on a summer day.

However, loose photographs in shoeboxes, on refrigerators, or in drawers, can be easily damaged by improper storage, sun or water damages, heat, spills or carelessness. Disasters like fires and floods can ruin these pictures forever. Don't let precious memories be tainted by scratches or stains, or lost for good.

Ovenlight's loose photograph archival service will scan and organize all your loose pictures, and if necessary, correct any mars or scratches that have accumulated over time. Our archival specialists will meet with your family to discuss organization and preservation techniques. You can choose to send your loose pictures to our archival lab, or we can scan and organize at your home.

Don't live close to our lab? We'll provide you with a safe, secure method to send your loose pictures to our lab. High quality, easily accessible loose photos are not only loss-proof, but easily accessible and easily shared. Keep your family memories close at hand by preserving your loose pictures with Ovenlight's loose picture archival service.
