Okay, here’s the situation…
Swan Training is a small business located in Wilsonville, Oregon. Owned and operated by Beka Swan; Swan Training is a riding academy and barn focused on the hunter/jumper style of competitive riding. When Beka called; she explained that their current web developer was no longer a viable option and that she needed a knowledgeable, trustworthy web developer to jump in and get to work.
Challenge Accepted!
During the website audit, we found the WordPress site was bloated with dozens of plugins and builders. Additionally, website hosting was spread across multiple systems. The website was not: mobile friendly, HTTPS, generating leads, shareable, social, quantifiable!
Our Solution
We scrapped the old site in favor of a new responsive WordPress template. We added custom forms to revised services pages so that visitors could request more information about riding, boarding, and showing horses with Swan Training. We then wired up the site to social media so that blogs and sale horses appear the moment they are published on swantraining.net and then we built an online store to sell customized apparel.
In addition to updates to the website, Ovenlight has educated Swan Training about Inbound Marketing. Since then, we’ve been writing, sharing and celebrating great content.
The results are in!
Looking at the past year…
- Bounce Rates are down 77.3% (from 30.33% to 6.89%)
- Page views are up 58.40%
- Pages per session are up 67.83% (from 4.3 to7.2 pages per visit)
- Organic search is up 20%
- Social media traffic is up 83%

There, Beka, her husband, and their team of equine professionals care for Horses and train riders in the Hunter/Jumper system of equestrianism. We have a great working relationship where Beka focuses on the horses and her clients and we share their success with the world. We’ve optimized the local search so that Swan Training is dominating the search engines and all who are interested can easily find and engage with the business online.
